Technology and applications

HITMEDIA has developed a variety of audio visual codecs and players for mobile phones. The players have all basic playback features and support for any language.

All players benefit from HITMEDIA codecs that are based on own IPR. Thus we are able to generate new features to the formats and players and to optimize music and video contents for the use in handheld mobile devices.

All content can be protected and we can offer many different ways to do that, such as:

• the content can be played only with one specified phone or memory card
• the content can only be played once
• the content can only be played within specified time period or specified number of times
• the player plays only a demonstration clip of the content
• the content is open for all Hitmedia Players

These protection options can be combined with purchasing option. The user who doesn�t have the full rights to the content can purchase them. When the full rights are acquired the content can be played immediately without loading it again.

The applications are now compatible with those Nokia�s mobile phones that use Symbian S60 operating system. Support for touch screen phones is coming. These phones have the majority of the smart phone market share in most parts of the world. The selection of compatible phones will however grow significantly as the markets of smart phones develop.
